In my time with the company, I’ve worked on multiple projects in different countries and there are always new opportunities to take advantage of
Since joining BearingPoint, I’ve had the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects. I started as part of the Data and Analytics team, but after spending six months in Frankfurt as part of BearingPoint’s Develop Abroad initiative, I switched my focus to RegTech.
Through the Develop Abroad initiative, I was placed on a secondment to Frankfurt where I worked with the development team for the Abacus Regulatory Reporting platform. It was a great opportunity to develop my skills while also getting to explore a new city.
As part of the RegTech team, my primary role involves working with Banks, Insurers and other Financial Services companies to help them meet their regulatory commitments using the Abacus Platform.
A typical RegTech project involves working with multiple teams throughout a client organisation, so a normal day depends a lot on who I’m currently working with.
Each day brings fresh tasks and challenges and includes a wide range of roles covering everything from data mapping and building interfaces to client training and interpreting regulatory requirements.
Outside the office
Outside of work, I enjoy reading, watching movies and travelling. When I was based in Frankfurt and London, most of my time was spent exploring and seeing the sites.
One of the things I really like about working for BearingPoint is the focus on personal development. Management are interested not only in what you are working on now, but also where you want to be in five years’ time. Every staff member is assigned a personal performance manager to guide you and help you develop your career. It feels good to work for a company that values your contributions and is willing to invest in your future.
