Knowing you’ve played a role in helping an organisation implement significant changes to the operation of their business offers a great sense of achievement, especially when you manage to convert change resisters to change champions.
In my time working with BearingPoint, I have worked on numerous public and private sector projects across a range of industries including telecommunications, healthcare, policing and financial services. My work as a Senior Consultant has always been varied and challenging. I’m currently part of the Digital & Strategy team and my main area of focus is Change Management.
No day is the same in BearingPoint, particularly while working on a client site. At the moment I am working as the Change Management lead on a large Reform programme for a public sector client so a typical day would normally include a morning stand up team meeting, responding to emails and planning for the next workshop/client engagement. As Change Manager I need to ensure that changes within the business are implemented effectively. My role includes tasks like developing a change management plan, internal and external stakeholder engagement and communications, training design and delivery, business process and organisational design. Knowing you’ve played a role in helping an organisation implement significant changes to the operation of their business offers a great sense of achievement, especially when you manage to convert change resisters to change champions.
Outside the office
I love yoga and hillwalking and the rest of my spare time is spent on the side of a GAA or football pitch cheering my son on!
I love the variety. Every day is different, and I get to interact with such varied groups/people which means I am always learning. BearingPoint staff come from all backgrounds so there are plenty of opportunities to learn from fellow colleagues. I’ve made lifelong friends in BearingPoint and there’s a great sense comradery amongst us all. Everyone is approachable and helpful, it’s an extremely positive work environment. We are also encouraged to work on areas outside of our domain that interest us, for me this has been in the CSR, Diversity and Culture space. There are plenty of opportunities to participate in women’s networking events or charity initiatives and we are encouraged to do so. An important aspect of work for me over the past number of years has been flexible working hours to fit in with family life and BearingPoint have supported both part-time hours and working from home which has been really helpful.
