Corporate Responsibility

Corporate

Responsibility

BearingPoint's corporate social responsibility strategy (CSR) strategy includes our responsibilities to our people, our society and our planet. The core of the strategy is to channel our impact through the BearingPoint Foundation.

Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY)

BearingPoint is proud to be associated with the charity Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY). CRY is a self-supporting registered charity which means that it operates completely without Government funding. BearingPoint developed CRY's website to help promote the organisation and its much needed activities. BearingPoint staff also help to raise funds for the charity through sports and social events and other public sponsored activities such as marathons, bake sales and a Point2Point cycle.

It is with this type of support that CRY has been able to:

  • Support the Centre for Cardiovascular Risk in Younger Persons (CRYP), where families and individuals can be evaluated in a timely and systematic fashion without financial cost
  • Promote heart screening through its support for the development of a National Screening and Counselling Service
  • Provide counselling and support to families affected
  • Raise awareness of cardiac risk in the young through media campaigns and public information meetings

BearingPoint Foundation

In addition, at the heart of BearingPoint's overall CSR strategy is the BearingPoint Foundation. We invest 1% of the firm's annual profits through the Foundation – consisting of both time and money. Our investment is focused on charities that support the development and understanding of the human mind. Specifically, this means we work with charities who aim to:

  • improve health and mental well-being
  • drive advances in IQ (Intelligent Quotient) and EQ (Emotional Quotient)

Our social purpose is our way of making a positive impact and a long-term difference to the wider world we all live and work in.

A clear social purpose that sets out how we contribute positively to lives in the communities in which we operate is an important component of our "One Firm" agenda. Historically our Firm has a strong legacy of supporting social activities and local communities, but we have failed to coordinate and integrate the support.

The Foundation is a virtual organization through which the Firm will channel pro bono consulting, donations and asset licenses to charities aligned with our social purpose.

CoderDojo

BearingPoint runs monthly CoderDojo events for children of staff where children learn all about digital technology! Children (from as young as 5) come to these events with their parents to learn how to code, develop websites, games and more. These events are run by staff on a voluntary basis, they are a great learning experience for children and are always fun for everyone involved!
